Boys becoming men
"It is in every woman's best interest to live in a world with well-formed men, who understand duty, honor, and justice," stated the blogger at the end of an entry at Feminine Genius. The entry -- titled "Authentic masculinity" -- caught my eye...
One could reach out to young men by throwing them basketballs, or by titillating them with girly images, or even by miring them in an easy love of technology or speed. But this article by Katherine Kersten profiles an excellent young teacher who captivates young men with good literature:
My son had many fine teachers at his high school,
"He taught us about manhood. All the guys would tell you so."

Very nice. I hope men would read this...and realize that girls become ladies when boys become gentlemen. heehee.
1:12 PMHeehee! Also, that there's more fulfillment in being men of character than in just "going with the flow" of the times.
7:16 AMI would agree wholeheartedly and suggest that the crisis of holding men, especially, to account for their essentially cowardly response to the world is vital not just restoring a sense of womanly, but to the restoration of our overarching sense of humanity. If humans are rational beings destined for glory we must control our libidinous desire to dominate others as a first step to achieving the glory we are promised. If, however, manners, courtesy and self control are abandon we give the lie to the idea that man is no more than a highly evolved ape who survives by using and abusing others hairless apes. Meaninglessness will necessarily ensue followed closely by despair.
